CHRISTUS Health Hospitals Earn Prestigious Top Safety Honors in East Texas

TYLER, Texas ( KETK ) — Four CHRISTUS Health hospitals earned A grades on Thursday based on their ability prevent medical error and potential harm to patients.

The hospitals were assigned these ratings by the Leapfrog Group , a nationwide nonprofit organization dedicated to gathering and sharing information about hospital performance and safety. The following CHRISTUS hospitals were awarded an A grade based on the Leapfrog Spring 2025 Hospital Safety Survey.

Leapfrog evaluates around 3,000 U.S. acute-care hospitals, but fewer than a third receive an 'A' rating. The assessment encompasses over 30 national performance metrics such as intensive care, maternal health services, and drug safety protocols.

For instance, Mount Pleasant is set to open an additional emergency department along with a multi-specialty clinic extension, whereas Henderson will acquire a standalone emergency facility. According to Chris Glenney, who serves as the senior vice president for group operations at CHRISTUS Northeast Texas and North Louisiana, this achievement signifies much more than just acknowledgment.
