Daily Y.A.P.P. for General Hospital, May 1: Time to Move Past Defending Drew Cain

Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. ( Y our A fter- P rogram P (wonders) for a brief — and by that, I mean you're nearly finished with it — rundown of the most incredible or what-on-earth-did-we-just-watch moments from today’s episode. Here we go:

What occurred on General Hospital?

Although Nina and Portia’s scheme against Drew wasn’t exactly honorable, it was certainly justified. Yet, it appeared as though "General Hospital" wanted viewers to perceive him solely as a victim. In reality, he had brought some of this upon himself through his actions towards them. Drew isn't an innocent party; Willow required a wakeup call regarding the true nature of Drew, regardless of whether that revelation came via a planned event. Furthermore, we shouldn't claim Drew harbors pure affection for Willow when he has exhibited possessive behavior ever since she parted ways with Michael, along with stalking her persistently prior to getting together. Curtis and Alexis made clear statements suggesting such conduct from Drew would be out-of-character based on previous experiences, indicating that "GH" might've aimed to portray these two characters as star-crossed lovers dubbed 'The Gruesome Twosome' by fans. This relationship lacks beauty and tenderness—Drew comes across as self-centered and deceitful, whereas Willow appears merely egocentric and naive. Drew is despicable—he deceived Willow into believing her ex-husband didn’t wish to meet her despite her journey abroad to speak with him. Just recently, he intimidated Portia yet again and attempted to demolish the family crypt housing the remains of his ancestors, including his parents and child. Clearly, this indicates someone far from virtuous—and hopefully, Willow will come to understand this harsh truth soon enough.
