York County Doctor Forced Patients Into Sex for Treatment, AG Says
York County, Pennsylvania (WHTM) – On Wednesday, law enforcement authorities announced that a local physician had been taken into custody for reportedly coercing female patients into engaging in sexual activities with him as a condition for receiving medical care. The arrest was made public by the state Attorney General’s office.
If the patients declined, Christopher Davis, aged 63, would either deny them medical care or threatened to stop providing their medications, according to statements from the Attorney General’s Office.
Davis served as the medical director at Pyramid Healthcare Treatment Center, a facility providing complete addiction treatments such as withdrawal management (ASAM Level 3.7) along with both short- and long-term care options. residential care "(ASAM Level 3.5) for individuals of both genders who are 18 years old and above," as stated on their website.
The Attorney General's office stated that Davis was the sole individual permitted to administer methadone, a medication prescribed for treating opioid dependence, to his patients.
According to the district attorney's office, the purported coercion occurred between 2022 and 2024.
Attorney General Dave Sunday stated, "This physician violated his position as a guardian of essential medicines for susceptible individuals by mistreating, coercing, and attacking multiple patients from 2022 to 2024." He added, "These patients depended on the accused to deliver empathetic care and assistance as they sought rehabilitation; however, he let them down repeatedly. Those striving to improve themselves through therapy deserve encouragement and support rather than being targeted and taken advantage of."
Davis is charged with offenses such as rape, forced non-consensual sex acts, sexual assault, serious indecent assault, and sexual coercion.
He is being held at York County Prison, where his bail has been set at $1 million by Magisterial District Judge Barry L. Bloss Jr. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 14.
