Orlando Magic's Moe Wagner Shares Key Insights on Offseason Injury Status
Orlando Magic Moe Wagner, who is at the center of attention, heads into the offseason without having played since December due to tearing his ACL.
Wagner is still undergoing rehabilitation following his surgery in early January, but he provided an optimistic update about his health during Thursday’s team exit interviews.
"There isn’t a specific timeline, no set benchmarks or anything similar. This approach is integrated into my rehabilitation process. Each day brings new challenges and learning experiences. However, this mindset is crucial,” Wagner stated regarding his return for the upcoming season. “I am striving toward that goal and remain quite optimistic.”
Wagner, who is 28 years old, appeared in only 30 matches prior to suffering the severe knee damage, and the Magic Certainly felt the absence of his contributions on the court. The German forward recorded a career-best average of 12.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game when coming off the bench prior to getting injured, showing significant progress within the team dynamics.
The Magic They have an option to retain Wagner’s contract for the next season at $11 million, yet regardless of this decision, Orlando plans to keep him on their roster for the 2025-26 campaign.
