Today's Connections answers

Therefore, what are the solutions for game #691 of Connections today?

Drumroll, please...

  • 🟨 Kinds of carvings: Bust, relief, statue, torso
  • 🟩 Pillar: Brace, post, prop, support
  • 🟦 BBQ offering: Dog, link, rib, wing
  • 🟪 ____ Neck: Bottle, break, goose, turtle

The initial word I encountered this morning was "brace." Consequently, I started searching for additional encouraging terms, leading me to come across "prop" and "support." Since my thoughts were not oriented towards architectural elements like pillars or columns, the term "post" did not resonate with me right away as part of the motif present in today’s puzzle.

When I shuffled things around, the blue group came up next, with ribs and wings ending up side by side. Normally, I avoid shuffling since I typically pick up on hints easily, but my luck seemed off today. This arrangement made me think about cooking outdoors, leading me to connect dogs and sausages in my mind.

Initially, I came across terms like bust, relief, and statue but couldn't find the fourth type of sculpture.

Therefore, I included "bottle," "break," "goose," and "turtle" since the phrase "bottle neck" sparked my imagination and led me to consider these additional terms.

We concluded with yellow’s bust, relief, statue, and torso. The mention of “torso” bothered me disproportionately since I didn’t instantly see how it aligned with the first three terms even though it matched the overall theme. It seems like "torso" might have been included as a decoy alongside related concepts such as ribs or wings rather than more typical sculpture-related terms, although this is just speculation on my part.

Yesterday's Connections answers

  • 🟨 Winnings: Pot, prize, purse, reward
  • 🟩 Stop, as a habit: Break, drop, kick, shake
  • 🟦 Movie camera verbs: Dolly, pan, tilt, zoom
  • 🟪 Terms that come before "-size" to indicate tiny: Bite, fun, pocket, travel

If you're reading this at a later time zone, here are the solutions for Connection game number 690, which was rated with a difficulty level of 4.5 out of 5. Connections Companion .

Initially, I was somewhat apprehensive about trying it due to its high rating of 4.5, but after receiving the purple version, I found it much easier to manage and excel with.

I spotted "Bite" and instantly thought of something small. Right above it was "Fun," setting my course. Next came "Pocket," but it took me a moment to notice "Travel." I got hung up on "purse-sized," though—it’s not commonly used.

Starting from there, I believe the blue section is more challenging if you're not acquainted with the terminology. This part covers camera movements such as dolly, pan, tilt, and zoom, but here’s what came next.

The previous guess involved identifying whether a certain group was either green or yellow. My choice leaned towards "break," "drop," "kick," and "shake" with primary attention on determining the alternative category.

We concluded with pot, prize, purse, and reward constituting our earnings.
